My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Indiana, a torbie beauty with a personality as vibrant as her coat! Born in 2017, Indiana is a striking feline with a captivating mix of tabby and tortoiseshell patterns, accented by her mesmerizing green eyes that seem to hold the secrets of the universe.

Indiana is not your average cat—she's a force to be reckoned with, with a big personality to match her stunning appearance. She's fiercely independent, preferring to chart her own course through life rather than follow the crowd. With her boundless energy and insatiable curiosity, Indiana is always on the move, exploring every nook and cranny of her environment with enthusiasm and determination.

Despite her independent nature, Indiana is highly intelligent and knows exactly how to get what she wants. She's a master manipulator, using her charm and wit to bend the world to her will. With her bossy and sassy attitude, Indiana isn't afraid to speak her mind and let her presence be known.

But don't let her bold exterior fool you—beneath her tough exterior lies a cat with a heart of gold. Indiana is eager and keen to form deep connections with her chosen companions, showering them with love and affection in her own unique way.

If you're looking for a cat who's as beautiful as she is bold, Indiana is the perfect match for you. With her intelligence, charm, and undeniable charisma, she's sure to bring joy and excitement into your life every day. Adopt Indiana today and embark on an adventure like no other with this extraordinary feline!

Additional adoption info

1) The first step to meet the cats at Animal House is to email us at AHcatadoption@gmail.com. Be sure to include your full name, age, address, and phone number. We will respond as soon as possible to answer your questions and schedule an appointment to visit our shelter. If you have already submitted an inquiry through Adopt-a-Pet or Petfinder about a particular cat, there is no need to send a separate email.
2) During your appointment, you will complete a questionnaire and work with an adoption coordinator to find the cat that is right for you. This process may involve meeting with numerous cats, or even making more than one visit to Animal House. You and your new cat will live together for a lifetime, so this step is important.
3) Before adoption, we ensure that your cat has been spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.
4) When your adoption is finalized, the adoption paperwork is completed and a $130 adoption fee for adult cats and $150 for kittens is collected.

More about this shelter

Animal House Cat Rescue and Adoption Center is a private, non-profit, “no-kill” organization dedicated to providing the homeless, abandoned cats and kittens of St. Louis with a better life. We are committed to maintaining an adoption center that provides a safe, healthy and enriching environment, and our goal is a solid and lasting adoption for every cat and kitten in our care.

Animal House opened in 2010 when the City of St. Louis closed its municipal shelter and ended a number of services for stray animals. Not only did the 75 cats residing in their shelter need a place to go, the St. Louis community needed services for abandoned, homeless cats. Animal House was born out of that need. Today we house 100-250 cats and kittens at any given time.

The cats and kittens at Animal House are rescued from the streets of our community and often come from challenging circumstances that include neglect, abandonment, or injury. We have created a safe place where cats in need find shelter, medical and nutritional support, individualized socialization and interaction, enrichment, lots of love, and the opportunity to connect with a loving, lifelong family. We impose no time limit on this process, giving each cat or kitten the time they need. We emphasize matchmaking throughout our adoption process to ensure the best possible match.
