Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FINN is a 1-year-old neutered male yellow lab. Finn weighs 69 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.
DESCRIPTION Finn is a happy, outgoing, energetic boy with lots of love to share. Since he's a young Lab, he'll do well in a home where he can get lots of exercise and receive training. (Finn is a big boy, so an easy walk harness may be good for him while he has leash training.) Finn loves to ride in the car. Finn has been tested with other dogs and has been fine. (He enjoys playing with other dogs.) Finn is curious about cats, so he may be OK with cats. From vet: Finn is a super goofy boy. Finn's story: Finn was a stray. Many sightings were reported of him traveling a seven mile radius along a roadside, and he settled in at a trailer park where people left him scraps of food. Sweet Virginia Barn Cats was contacted, so they started posting him on Facebook in mid December 2018 to try to find his owner, but no one responded. Sweet Virginia Barn Cats was contacted again about Finn, because he had reappeared and needed to be taken ASAP since some people were throwing rocks at him. So Sweet Virginia Barn Cats took him into their rescue, because the local shelter was closed for the holidays. They had Finn in foster for his required stray hold for the shelter, but no owner was ever found.
Update: Finn has been has been perfect in the house. He loves to be in your lap, sleep in his bed or yours (if you let him), and wants to play all the time with the resident chocolate lab. He is an extremely loveable and delightful dog who will give you kisses and cuddles. He loves his bones and his toys but will work on de-stuffing them. He is house trained and house broken and has had the run of the house with no issues. It is not known if he has ever been crate trained. He has never displayed any separation anxiety. He sleeps through the night and can wait at least 8 hours to go outside. He knows come, sit, stay and down but isn't always the best at listening. He will benefit from additional training. He is very interested in the resident cats and will go nose to nose with them when they are on your lap wanting to be friends, but once the cat is on the floor the chase is on! Cats that are used to playful dogs might be OK. Finn loves to run as fast as he can and play in the yard. He and the resident dog are very close and they love to run zoomies, play chase and wrestle. Since Finn has been burning a lot of his energy playing with his dog buddy (and he has loved playing with new dog friends as well), we would strongly suggest that he go to a home with another playful dog; in the absence of all-out play to tire him out, he may, like any young active dog, exhibit behavioral problems without sufficient exercise. Walks are not going to do the trick. To date, he has demonstrated wonderful house manners and we don't want to spoil his record. Finn is strong on the leash and will have a TRAINING ADDENDUM. Finn may be fine with dog-savvy cats, but he will give chase.
