Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Roy
YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO SET UP A TIME TO MEET OUR PETS.
Roy is a 25 pound, 5 month old puppy who is going to be one big, beautiful boy! We do not know what breed mix he actually is but he has a long, silky, wavy coat that is just scrumptious. He was found with two other dogs abandoned outside of a vets office. He has such sweet and funny ears – his left one cannot decide what it wants to do and sometimes even goes sideways over the top of his head!
Roy is friendly and happy but a bit intimidated by all the new stuff he is experiencing right now. We can tell that he will be quite confident with just a bit of experience since he does acclimate fairly quickly after brief initial hesitation. He just needs to learn about the world.
Roy is silly and playful, pure puppy, with the other puppy that he came with, a typical fun loving 5 month old. We took him on an outing the other day and he was fine with all the noise and people but uncertain about being introduced to a strange dog so he does need to learn not to be fearful of brand new dogs. He probably just has no experience outside of his own pack.
He seems to love people and he does bond very quickly to new people friends. He does like to stay close and needs a little confidence building so that he can feel secure that new friends will not abandon him like his old owner did. He will probably thrive best in a multi person household.
This smart puppy learns quickly and will be a great family dog with just a bit more real world experience. He has never been on the leash before and he will walk just fine while on it in a very familiar place, but then totally balk and cower down when faced with a new doorway, new hallway, etc. He will be fine with some practice since he is perfectly okay once he realizes the new place is safe and that he is not going to be dragged anywhere unpleasant.
Roy will thrive best with an experienced owner who is ready to teach an energetic puppy everything that a young dog needs to know. He will be a big dog and will need to learn all about walking on the leash since regular exercise is important for active breeds.
We have no idea whether or not he has started his potty training but he does seem to hold his pees and poops until he is outside and he has not marked inside so far.
