My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sugar is a female, 5-6 year old small Boxer mix with the most gentle heart and personality! She rolls over for tummy rubs and gets along great with other dogs, cats, kids, and adults. What you notice the most about Sugar is she is calm, quiet and very docile. She belonged to an elderly gentlemen who lived by a busy highway in an old mobile home. When Sugar had puppies, most would be killed on that road. The man became too ill to remain home alone and Sugar and her 6 puppies were left alone to fend for themselves because family members quit coming around to feed them. Luckily, rescue stepped in and they were saved. All her puppies have been adopted and Sugar has been fully vetted (no more litters of puppies for this girl). She has had all of her shots and tested negative for heart-worms. Sugar would make a wonderful family pet, or a companion for someone alone or wants the kind of dog that isn't rowdy. Sugar would love to flop out on a dog bed or snuggle by your side. She was born with white fur around her mouth and yes, she has some gray now but don't let the fool you into thinking she is really old. She is just hitting her prime and has plenty of years left. Sugar was just weighed and is currently 35 lbs. Once she starts getting to go on walks she will probably lose a few of those pounds she has gained while waiting for her forever home.
