Saffron was rescued from a rural shelter where she came in with her mother and two female siblings. They all quickly found themselves on the euthanasia list. It was a small shelter with few adoptions and filled to the brim with kittens. The shelter had almost 20 kittens on their euthanasia list and a kind-hearted man that was at the shelter couldn't stand it so he left with all of them. This was a previous adopter times two kitties with Furry Friends and although he was affiliated with a different rescue group at the time he pulled the kittens/cats, this group folded and he was left with way too many kittens to handle. He contacted Furry Friends and this is how this little family came into our foster/adoption program. Saffron is the largest kitten in the group and also somewhat rare in that she is a female orange tabby. Eighty percent of orange tabby cats are male. For those of you who love orange tabby males, the females are amazing, too. Saffron is very sweet and playful and gets along with kids, cats and dogs. She is on the shy side and would probably be happiest in a quiet home without small children. If you have room for this sweet kitten, fill out an application and adopt her today!
UPDATE: Saffron was adopted out with her sister, Paprika, and recently returned. The reason was, "My pregnant daughter is moving back home and she is allergic." So they are back in foster care, through no fault of their own, a bit older but still under two years of age, and looking for a forever home.
