My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The life of Brian... he was purchased as a pet for a pre-teen about two years ago. His owners were super excited and purchased all sorts of items to get him started in his new home. Fast forward two years, and the excitement has worn off. They didn't realize that chinchillas can live up to 20 years and require a long term commitment. The constant demand for sweeping around his cage (it is an every day process) and the fact that he isn't cuddly or can be taken for walks, the choice was made.

He was surrendered a few months ago to us. Adults have a bit more of a complicated time adjusting so we tend to keep them here a bit longer. During that time, we have gotten to know him. For an adult chin, he is super friendly. He doesn't mind being held and loves to have behind his ears scratched. We finally feel that we can now look for his fur ever home. A home where his new family understands that he can live longer than a dog or cat. That he is going to be messy, he loves to dig in his shavings.

If you would like to give Brian a home.. please feel free to contact us. Our adoption process is fairly simple, our main goal is to get to know the family that would like to adopt.

He does have an adoption fee of $95.00 which goes right back into the care of our rescues. We have since used his supplies, and his cage was pretty rusty, so he is going to need those.
