Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Forrest is a very handsome 1.5 year old TABBY AND WHITE DOMESTIC MEDIUM HAIR with beautiful green eyes. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, has his claws, and is microchipped. Forrest is a large, lanky cat weighing in at 12.5 pounds. This poor boy has a sad tale. He was found at a Chicago construction site at 5 months old, and then was turned into animal control. He was scheduled to be euthanized, so what could we do? Of course, SPCR had to take him in, along with his brother and snowshoe sister. They didn’t have any socialization, I’m afraid, and may even have been treated badly, by the way they acted. Forrest has had such a bad experience, that it is heavily ingrained in his mind, but he’s trying so hard, and has come such a long way. His foster mom can now pet him, give him ear scritches and belly rubs, and he loves a good shoulder massage! He likes to be brushed, and she can briefly pick him up. If she sits on the floor, he will even sit on her lap for a few minutes. He is a structurally big boy, but he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body! If he gets scared, his first impulse is to hide.
He will need someone who can spend time with him, have patience, and earn his trust. This poor little man deserves a forever home, with people who will love him, and take things, very slowly. He gets scared in new situations, so he will need to be in a smaller space, until he is comfortable with you and his surroundings. He would be okay with another easy going cat, if very slow introductions were made. Children and dogs would be too much for him. Adoption Fee $50. Fostered in Campbellsport, WI.
