My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zeus is only 7 months old [DOB: July 20, 2018] and already growing to be a big boy! He was growing too quickly for his family, so they surrendered him. We expect Zeus to somewhere between 70-90 pounds when he's full grown, around 18 months old.

Zeus is sweet and kind and super cuddly. His fosters have already taught him; sit, down, stay, paw, 'ok', and crate. He LOVES to learn.

The Black German Shepherd is a spectacular dog ....

Temperament: Active, Loyal, Stable, Courageous, Obedient, Trainable and Intelligent

This breed is a working dog and they require mental stimulation and lots of exercise to work off their high energy.

Black German Shepherds believe their job is to protect their family – which they will do, and they will do it well. They are highly intelligent and always alert and watchful and will bark to let you know something is amiss…

Being so family oriented, Black German Shepherds dislike being left alone. They can become incredibly stressed and anxious; resulting in destruction and barking, so we're looking for a home for Zeus where he isn't going to be left alone for hours on end.

Black German Shepherds are a strong and powerful breed – so we will not consider a first-time dog owner to adopt Zeus.

We will also expect his adopter to carry pet insurance and work with a trainer so Zeus is growing up understanding expectations and his adopter is someone who understands how to keep this working breed happy and content in life.
