Meet Humphrey! He is about 2 years old and ~19 lbs of love. He is a very sweet guy who will curl up on your lap and stare adoringly into your eyes. What a charmer! He absolutely loves people and is eager to engage with you.
This smarty has learned to use the doggie door at his foster home and is house trained with very few accidents as time goes on. Humphrey gets along with the small dog in his foster home but was too wary of the large dog there so he would prefer to be an only dog or have one small companion his size who is not dominant. He is very good with cats and people and is becoming more social every day. He is untested with young children and we don't think he would be good with small kids so teens and up only.
Before Humphrey was surrendered to the shelter, he never left his house but now that he is not there he is beginning to learn how to walk on a leash. Being a little new to a leash, he is working on that as well as going through doorways and up and down steps. He catches on quickly, and with a little patience from his new family, he will continue to blossom. He is happy about his ever-expanding world and adapts easily to his new adventures.
We can’t say how sweet he is with people! He slept all night in his bed and wants nothing but cuddles and pets all day from any human around and loves to snuggle on the couch to watch some TV at night with his foster family. He’s a fantastic dog and is looking for that forever home where he can love you with all his might!
Humphrey came from a situation where people were home all day and there were 7 other dogs there. He must have canine companionship with a small dog nondominant dog if he is left without human companionship for more than a couple of hours a day.
Humphrey is located in San Jose, CA and his adoption fee is $275.00
