Say hi to pretty Poem! She’s an 18-month old, 25-pound Basenji/Carolina Dog mix who possesses every quality you’d look for in a best bud: She’s a great listener, she makes good eye contact, she’s honest and trustworthy, she’ll get along with all your other friends, but YOU’LL be the person she’ll want to hang out with most.

If walking is your thing, Poem is a dream on a leash. She never tugs, she waits patiently at crosswalks, and she’ll stroll for as long as you like. She is fully housebroken, but seems to prefer doing her business while off leash. Hey, she just probably values a little bathroom privacy! Can ya blame her? ;-)

This sweet girl loves toys she can chew on and treats she can munch on. But please hold the peanut butter! In her world, that’s a big yuck! Go figure! She loves being pet and gently spoken to, especially at nighttime in her comfy dog bed, as she slowly drifts off to sleep. That’s like the perfect bedtime story for her.

Poem is a bit on the reserved side, but her love and warmth brightly shine through. She is fine around other respectful dogs, she’s super chill at home, she wants to always be a real good girl, and she is definitely a smart cookie with potential to learn lots of cool stuff!
