Here's what the humans have to say about me:
****The website is updated several times daily. Please do not email to ask if there are still dogs/puppies available.****
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
YOU WILL FIND THE ANSWER TO ALL BASIC QUESTIONS BELOW. Please read carefully Before emailing.
*Sabrina, Stormy and Sprite are darling 4 month old mixed breed girls. Their mom Starla, is a Catahoula/Heeler mix and Dad was the same mix. Both parents are around 35-40 pounds, and the girls will likely be around that same size. Due to poor breeding practices, both Starla and the puppies father are merle colored dogs, resulting in the girls being "double merle" formerly called "lethal white". Because the puppies each carry two copies of the merle gene, this effects their vision and hearing.
*Sprite appears to have mid-range and high pitch hearing. She does have limited vision in very bright and dim lights.
*The puppies have grown up in foster care. They are used to the hustle and bustle of a typical family home. They have never been coddled or treated any different than other dogs. They are starting to work on house and crate training. The puppies will be able to be trained with a combination of voice, hand signals, light, and vibration. There are many great trainers and resources available for deaf or blind dogs. They do not need "guide dogs" or "hearing dogs" in their new homes. The puppies will need to go to homes with physically fenced yards or dedicated leash walkers. No electric fences or dog parks for these kids.
*Each pup is spayed or neutered and current on their vet cares.
*We do not hold or reserve dogs. We do not ship or fly. Prospective families must come to NORTHFIELD MN to meet. Aside from monthly adoption events, we do not meet in the Twin Cities*
*Emails are answered in the order they are received. We are receiving a large number of emails, so answering promptly is our goal. If you are interested in adoption, your prompt responses are the best way to get through the adoption screening*
*Paws First does not accept checks or credit cards. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DENY ADOPTIONS AT ANY POINT IN THE ADOPTION SCREENING PROCESS.*
If you have read this far, you are ready to start the adoption process! Please email for the next step, which is a short email interview to get started.
