Stinky (born in 2012) is a spayed female brown tabby shorthaired cat. Stinky was trapped and spayed as an older kitten and returned to her colony. Unfortunately a few years later she was struck by a car and although she was lucky enough to survive, she did suffer several fractures in her lower spine. The spine injuries left her unable to control when she urinates or defecates but her caretaker had developed a bond with her and chose to continue caring for her until sadly he passed away in late 2016. She needs to be on stool softener twice a day to keep her system moving without conscious muscle control but thankfully she happily eats them on her own mixed in with a little wet food. She will need to be on those meds the rest of her life and obviously she requires more clean up than a normal cat and needs to be kept in a small, easy to clean area like a large dog crate, bathroom or spare bedroom with smooth flooring most of the time. Because of her outdoor kittenhood Stinky can be a little slow to warm up to new people but once she gets used to someone as one of her caretakers she loves to be petted and acts a lot more friendly. She has done well with the toddler in her foster home but because of her spinal cord damage we think Stinky needs to avoid excessive stress and would do best in a quieter home with no dogs or where she could be kept separately.
