Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Freddie was adopted by a wonderful family in Vancouver earlier this year, who he loves spending time with (especially sharing cuddles with their 10 month old baby). Unfortunately, there was recently an incident where Freddie attacked the family cat. Luckily, she is okay, however, after speaking with animal behaviour specialists, and with a young baby to consider, the difficult decision has now been made to find a new home for this special boy.
Freddie had a hard start to life, growing up on the streets of Thailand living with his mama and sister where he was subjected to all kinds of treatment, including being shot! He has come a long way since then and is a very good boy who aims to please.
He is great on leash and is getting better and better with his off-leash recall. He is learning to go on on-leash bike rides as well. He knows basic commands (sit, stay, lay down, paw, wait, come etc.) and is fully house + crate trained. He has been absolutely wonderful with the 10-month old, and has been great with kids but is very strong and doesn't know his own strength at times (not everyone wants a "paw"). He has also gotten excited when friends have been dancing and has nipped at them. The family has been working on this with him, and he has not done it again, even while being provoked but it is still something to be mindful of for continued training.
He has a calm temperament but does get excited when he feels safe and enjoys his zoomies in the back yard or playing fetch (inside). He loves going for walks and meeting new dogs but is always hesitant at first... He has made some new doggie friends here in Canada and would love to make more, it just takes a couple introductions for him to trust new dogs. The family takes him multiple times a week to an off leash dog park where there is plenty of space for him to meet new dogs and explore off leash, safely.
His current family adore Freddie, and are absolutely heartbroken to have to re-home their sweet boy. A testament to just how special he is, they are happy to continue fostering him until the right new furever home is found!
Freddie is best suited for a family with no other pets, until he has had some more training. He may be fine with another dog in the home if the dog has a calm temperament.
