Lake Wales, FL- 1 y/o Male Saint Bernard looking for a new home! Greyzon is a GORGEOUS young man with an old soul attitude! Greyzon's current owner loves him very much, but due to personal and financial reasons thinks his life would be better in another home. He is an amazingly sweet boy that gets along with cats, dogs, and children of all ages! Greyzon is at 110 lbs, but we can definitely add some meat to him. She currently has young children that he loves very dearly. He loves to go for a splash in the water, and mostly just be by your side at all times!
Since his owner got him, Greyzon has had chronic ear infections and URIs. These issues are due in part to environmental allergies and food allergies. He currently goes 2 times a month to the vet to get his ears cleaned, which costs about $15. The owner has found only one kind of dog food that works for his needs, duck and brown rice. If he gets a hold of anything else he will have severe diarrhea, of course letting you know he needs to go outside like the gentleman he is. The vet also suggested that the owner's use of strong chemical products (she has to use these for medical reasons) may be worsening his allergies and URIs. Saying all this, we will never know if he will be completely cleared of these issues, and it may be a chronic issue. Greyzon needs a family that will be willing to experiment with his needs and what works for him. A family with larger children is preferable. With Greyzon's food issues, younger children will need to be watched carefully to prevent him from getting any treats. Greyzon also wants you to know he has hygromas on both of his elbows, one the size of a softball. These are the result of pressure on hardwood floors, and there are certain remedies the vet has suggested to lessen their size. They are mostly cosmetically an issue, but we would definitely like the adopter to watch them and care for them, because if they develop and get worse they can become infected.
