Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet CARLTON!!
Carlton is a 10 month old (born around 5/18), currently about 12 pounds, neutered male Jack Russell terrier mix.
Carlton was rescued from a home with around 80 dogs. His owner loved and cared for the dogs, but the numbers got out of hand, and became overwhelming. Several local rescues stepped up to help, and we were happy to help as well.
Carlton is a bundle of energy. He likely didn't get a lot of socialization so he can be super hyper. Although very sweet, and friendly, Carlton is not your "chill on the couch" kind of fellow just yet, and will need a patient person to let him settle in and find his calm. He does well with other dogs, and hasn't shown interest in cats. He does well in a crate, but is not potty trained. Seems like a smart little guy so he will learn.
Carlton is up to date on vaccinations, current on flea and heartworm preventative, and is micro-chipped. He comes with a health certificate to travel.
Carlton's preferred home has a secure fenced in yard he can run and play in supervised (no electric or wireless please), a patient person who will let him settle and develop into a wonderful calm little guy, and because of his high energy, sharp nails and teeth, no children under 8 please.
Carlton is currently in a shelter in Lytle, TX and can be transported to your area once adopted. All adopters must meet requirements.
Carlton is available thru Lytle Animal Allies, a 501c3 non-profit. The adoption fee is $185, and ground transport fee to the East coast via Rescue Road Trips is $185. Ground transport runs every 2 weeks and fills up fast.
