Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET COCO!! This beautiful chocolate girl is around 7 years old. Coco has been with LFS for about a year now. She was rescued from a shelter after she was found in the woods with her left front leg damaged beyond repair. It was causing her a great deal of pain, so we chose to amputate it and give Coco the best possible quality of life. Since then, Coco has done fantastic on 3 legs, and it's like she doesn't even miss it!
Coco is ready to find her forever home. She can be shy around new people sometimes but her personality has really blossomed since being rescued. At this time, Coco would do best in a home without small children. Coco appears to have a more dominant personality with other dogs, so she would do best in a home with a more submissive doggy buddy. She does well with small dogs and has done well with some bigger dogs. She and Cooper (also an adoptable LFS labby) have really hit it off and have become the best of buds! They would love to be adopted together if possible, but they are not a bonded pair.
Coco has been exposed to cats and had no reaction to them even when they were reactive to her through the cage front. Overall Coco is a happy, energetic and very social girl. Everyone who meets her falls in love with her.
This 3 legged girl can get around just like any other dog. She does best with small dogs. She would also do best with an owner that has time to invest in her, and she will return the love forever. She loves to snuggle and just be with me all day long no matter what we are doing. Coco is amazingly smart and will do anything for praise, love or treats.
COCO NEEDS A FOSTER HOME!! Coco has been with us a long time, and unfortunately she has had to stay in boarding for much of that time. While she enjoys doggie daycare, we would love to see Coco be able to go to a foster home before the holidays. Please consider opening your heart and home to Coco!
