Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Little Jerry Garcia just keeps truckin after a rough start! This adorable dachshund/terrier mix had to be confiscated from a neglectful owner. He was living with a badly fractured back leg when rescued. Unfortunately, our orthopedic surgeon could not repair the leg and had to amputate. Regardless, he does really well as a tri-pod and can race around the yard faster than his four-legged friends! Approximately one year old and 15lbs, Jerry is a scruffy-faced adolescent. There is a great deal of puppy still in this sweet boy; he is a little goofball and loves to play. He has a big crazy fluffy coat that doesn’t seem to shed much. He would also be gorgeous shaved down. He adores affection and is so thankful for love that he could melt the toughest heart with his appreciation. His favorite thing is laying beside his person basking in the joy of being pet.
Jerry is in foster care in Connecticut and immediately adjusted to his new home after transport from Texas. He joined a household with two small dogs and slotted right into the pack. He likes to race around the house with his friends, and spend as much time as possible beside his foster mom, giving kisses. He will also go quietly on his bed when he’s told to lay down. Jerry appears to be housebroken and does his business with his foster brother and sister out in the yard. When it’s bedtime, he gets in his bed and doesn’t make a peep all night. This little guy is a treasure who has endured his rocky road without losing any of his sweet disposition.
OUR RESCUE POLICY: We require a home with children older than 10 years old and experienced dog owners only.
