Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lily was a stray at a local animal shelter and was adopted by someone in August, 2018. That person then had a serious life changing event happen and now Lily is with IDAWG while we find her a new home.
Lily is a little bigger than a purebred female border collie. We are estimating her weight at about 53 pounds. For size comparison we show her in one photo with a 55 pound female German shepherd. Lily has been a fun dog for her foster family.
She is just under 2 years of age. She is housetrained and crate trained. She loves people and is said to be good with older children and cats. Lily enjoys other dogs and LOVES to play with them.
One thing Lily needs is some obedience training and lessons on leash walking. No one has ever done this for her and she deserves this training. She is a very smart, happy dog.
She is a fairly high energy dog that needs a good run every day. We were told she had some destructive chewing going on, but that has not been an issue in her foster home. We are making sure she gets her exercise!
Lily is not crazy about riding in the car. She doesn't get car sick, she is just unsure about the whole experience. This is something her new family will need to work on with her to show her traveling can be fun. In her foster home we are working on just jumping in the car for a couple of good treats and extending the time we stay.
If you are interested in possibly adopting Lily, please complete an application located here: https://www.adoptapet.com/IDAWG/adoption-application/
Lily's adoption fee is $200. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.
