My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gideon! This big, busy, black and rust boy is 2 years old but still very much a pup. Coming to us from a shelter, Gideon seems to have stayed in a back yard for much of the time and left to entertain himself. He is thrilled to have attention and sometimes his excitement results in jumping up, but he is doing much better with this the longer he is in foster care. Like all youngsters he will need daily playtime and walks, or if you work, he will be a good candidate to attend doggy daycare. At home he will need a fenced yard to keep him safe as he romps and plays. He currently lives with two other Dobes and he doesn't take it personally when they tell him that he's being a pest. He is very smart and quickly learned (just from observing his foster mom on laundry day) how to pull open an under bed storage drawer. He was so proud to show off his new found toy which happened to be a pair of socks! Gideon is a sweet and charming cuddle bug once he's burned off some of that puppy energy. He needs patient owners with previous young Dobe experience - a sense of humor will also be helpful! Given time, consistent expectations, and plenty of opportunities to receive praise as he learns new things, Gideon will mature into an exceptional boy.
