ACE, 11, shar pei, neutered
This poor guy has a sad story. Ace's owner died over Memorial Day of last year. At the time, the owner’s roommate took over care of Ace, but he ended up running into trouble in his own life and wasn’t able to care for himself, much less another being. Sadly, Ace ended up being severely neglected. Then, an angel showed up in Ace’s life. She was dropping off the roommate at his home and ended up going into the house. She took one look at Ace and knew she couldn't leave him there. Ace was skin and bones. He was losing patches of hair and his nose was cracked and bleeding. There was no dog food in the house. No water in the dish. He was starving not just physically but also mentally as he so craved her affection. She took him home that same day.
After just a few short weeks in foster care, Ace is bouncing back incredibly quickly. He is filling out, his hair is coming back, and his nose is scabbed and healing. After being neglected for so long, he is still a sweet, amazing boy! Now he deserves a good loving home. He is still spry and attentive, is friendly to other dogs (though he will try to be the alpha) and he is good with kids ages 3 and 12. Ace is not a fan of cats, so he will do best in a feline-free home.
Ace's adoption fee is $175, plus tax. Discount available for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies, distemper and bordetella), HW test, blood panel, a microchip and spay/neuter if needed.
