Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Benjamin – 10 year old male purebred Miniature Schnauzer. This sweet boy was surrendered by his owner to a high kill local shelter shortly before Thanksgiving, presumably because he was sick. We rescued him over Thanksgiving weeken. This guy was touch and go when we got him he wouldn’t eat, was lethargic, borderline pneumonia, and his initial blood work had very high liver levels and kidney levels almost off the charts we feared the worst. We had xrays done along with ultrasound and thankfully there were no indications of cancer (even though he had 3 very large lumps). The next weeks he got daily fluids, antiboitics, appetizer pills, and supplements for liver support. Thankfully we got him stable and eating and healthy enough for surgery (to remove his lumps which fortunately turned out to be fatty tumors) and a dental (with 5 teeth extracted). Subsquently blood test showed his levels are much back to normal although our vet recommeneds he remain on liver supplement for life. Benjamin also has dry eye in his right eye so requires drop/lubercants daily. Benjamin is a real sweetheart who just wants to be somebody's lap buddy. Benjamin was our Christmas miracle as we really did not expect him to make it, but here he is almost ready for a new home (we expect he will be available in Mid January after he has recovered from his surgery YAH Benjamin!). Benjamin gets along well with other dogs. Benjamin has natural ears and a docked tail. He is a larger boy at approximately 23 pounds.
