Here's what the humans have to say about me:
DIESEL is a 2-year-9-month-old neutered male black lab. DogName weighs 89 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 6 and up.
DESCRIPTION Diesel is a smart and good looking pup. Wants to be with you and get petted and thinks ear rubs are great. He is just now starting to play with balls and toys, will bring them back once in a while He will de-stuff toys to get at the squeaker He would love an active family that have a yard to play in so he can get the exercise he needs. Diesel has always lived with other dogs so must be adopted by a family that has another dog. Kids 6 and up, lived with 3 ages 6, 7 & 9 with no problems. Good with other dogs has lived with several other dogs, has been out with other Lab Rescue dogs at the kennel with no problems. No cat information but would bark at them when they saw them in the neighbor;s yard. Knows sit come, working on down & stay. Pulls on lead, with an Easy Walk Harness. He is crate trained and reported as house trained. Diesel is one of 4 dogs we got from a family that rescued him and two siblings as puppies. Husband is unable to work so they asked us if we could help find them homes.
Adopters must meet these requirements:
Setting: Rural, Suburban
Dwelling: Single Family Home
Must go home with another dog
Fencing: Needs fence either physical or underground.
Diesel is from a rural area and has not been exposed to traffic, noise, or groups of people. If dogs are overwhelmed by their environment, they can exhibit behaviors like excessive barking. To avoid this, for now we are limiting placement to stand alone single family homes in a suburban neighborhood or rural area. As we learn more from the dog's time spent in foster, we will evaluate if placement can be expanded to include a more urban environment and send out an update.
This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. Lab Rescue LRCP rescues and places dogs in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and northeast North Carolina (30 miles east of I-95 and north of the Pamlico Sound.) Adopters must travel to Maryland, or Virginia with their family - human and canine - to meet the dog they want to adopt.
Lab Rescue LRCP has between 40 - 80 dogs available for adoption from foster homes across Maryland and Virginia, and at monthly adoption events. The adoption event dates and locations are listed at www.lab-rescue.org.
If you are interested in adopting, please visit www.lab-rescue.org and complete an adoption application. After you submit an application, you will hear from an Adoption Coordinator who will guide you through the adoption process.
An adoption fee is charged to cover the cost of veterinary care and a home visit is required.
