Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Harley! Harley is a sweet, excitable little guy. He loves to play with and chase toys, and is very happy to be with a human at all times.
Harley was raised in a loving home, and had no behavior issues while in his family, but he is young and very scared having lost his family. Due to circumstances he also was not well socialized with outside dogs.
Harely needs training and will need to go to home that can commit to his training and behavior management.
Currently, he panics and can nip/bite when strange large dogs approach and he is on leash. This is the only time we have seen that behavior as he loves people and likes playing with dogs he knows. We are hoping that with training and confidence building, he can over come this but right now would not be good for a family with children.
Harely is good with other dogs when introduced correctly and if they are patient with him, but is terrified of dogs he doesn't know just walking up on him.
He is currently learning to walk with a harness and leash, and how to meet other dogs. Harley loves to sit on your lap, and he has kisses for everyone he meets.
He will want a home that can provide him with the attention and training that he needs to be the best dog that he can be.
If this sounds like the new addition for your family, come meet Harley today!
We cannot confirm that dogs who come from the shelter will be house trained,.
We do not have any way of knowing if a dog or cat will do well with all children or all other animals.
*** This is why it is important that we introduce everyone in the home to the new pet. Please plan to have the whole family come visit.
*** We also require that any family dogs come into meet your potential adoptee. Please be sure your dogs are spayed or neutered and current on vaccines (distemper - parvo and rabies) before bringing them to the shelter.
*** All dogs must be transported home in a travel crate to transport your new pup home safely.
*** Renters must provide a copy of a lease indicating pets are allowed or contact information for the landlord.
If you are interested in meeting or adopting one of our pets or have questions about the process please see our website at www.adoptmountainpets.org or call the Shelter between 11:00 am and 5:45 pm Tuesday through Saturday. 970 626 2273
