Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"TAWNY" is an exceptionally beautiful, 1 yr old., 50 lb. cream colored female Labrador Retriever we rescued from a very high kill pound. A very happy, sweet, loving and affectionate girl who focuses in on a person quickly, wanting to connect & bond. Tawny literally 'stares' at you while smiling and focuses on your face, wanting affirmation as well as to 'connect'. Tawny wants to cuddle, but also wants to play & has typical young Lab exuberant energy, leaping with joy when she meets you, but as she is eager to please, will settle down & sit. She has jumping 'props', and though she has never jumped a fence, we recommend an active home with at least a 6 foot fence. Tawny would be great as a family dog, but due to her exuberance, we strongly recommend no young children. Tawny likes the company of other dogs, and does make a good playmate for an equally gentle dog that likes to play chase, but is not fond of a more aggressive, jumping/biting play style. Tawny could also easily be an only dog.
Tawny has been de-wormed, is current on vaccinations, on monthly heart worm preventative, micro-chipped, crate-trained and house-trained. Tawny is not yet 'spayed' as Tawny was incredibly skinny and malnourished when we rescued her, and we've been able to get a food amount of weight on her, but we recommend continuing to add an additional 5 to 10 lbs on her prior to spaying so she is in even more robust health for surgery. This rescue does not administer it's own vaccination shots. All of our rescued dogs' medical care has been administered by a licensed Veterinarian. All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., pro-biotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition.
