Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ashcroft is approx 57 lbs and 1 year. We are not sure of his breed mix, maybe some lab, smooth collie, terrier. He's a gentle dog and loves to lie on his doggie bed, play with toys and eat!!
He is very smart and will wait patiently for his treats. He gets along with the other rescues and is just very sweet. He is a little unsure on a leash still and would do better on a harness. He seems to be fairly well house trained and would love a yard to run and play in.
This poor guy was in line to be euthanized because he had been injured - maybe by another dog. He was found hiding and in pain underneath a house. We couldn't let him die as he was just so sweet. He did test positive for heart worms and has been treated with the required series of injections, we usually find that the dogs test clear in 4-6 months, he has also been started on heart guard a monthly preventative.
Unfortunately he cannot catch a break - he is being re-homed once again as he is being protective of the wife in the family, so we will need an experienced adopter who understands his insecurities. He is fine with dad/hubby when mom is not around, but has decided for some reason he wants to protect mom.
OUR RESCUE POLICY: We require a home with children older than 10 years old and experienced dog owners only.
The total adoption fee of $250 includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. The application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/
