My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Brody. He is a sweet and handsome 13 year old 7 lb Yorkie boy. Brody is being fostered in Altamonte Springs, FL.

UPDATED BIO 01/14/2019: Brody has been a busy little boy since he came into UYR a month ago. He was surrendered by his previous owner who could no longer care for him. Brody had not been vetted in over six years, so he needed a dental and to be brought up-to-date on his vaccinations.

Brody’s dental has been done and he lost 4 teeth, but still has 6-7 teeth left and this doesn’t affect his ability to eat. Brody was diagnosed with a Grade III/VI heart murmur but is currently not experiencing any symptoms, so he does not currently need to be on heart medications.

Foster Mom says that Brody is an angel and so very sweet. He loves belly rubs and has an extraordinarily sweet temperament and personality. He is friendly with other dogs and people, too. Brody does have bilateral cataracts, but can see good enough that he doesn’t bump into things and on his walks, he has a very spry gait.

Brody was apparently never encouraged to do his business outside or on pee-pee-pads, but Foster Mom is working with him to teach him where it is and is not appropriate to eliminate. He is going on the pee-pee-pads more often, so he appears to be getting it. It’s not uncommon for a new dog in the home to take a while to learn the pottying schedule and get accustomed to the smells in a new home. Brody is a smart little fella and it would be great if he could be adopted into a home where there is one stay-at-home parent who could consistently take him out every several hours.

Although Brody is considered a senior dog, he still has a lot of life to live and a ton of love to give to his adoptive family. Please don't turn away from him because of his age - he will bring great joy to whoever adopts this sweet boy. He is ready for his forever home.

PLEASE NOTE: Brody needs an adult-only home due to both his size and compromised vision.

UPDATED BIO 12/17/2018: Brody was surrendered by his owner who was unable to provide him with the proper care due to her medical disability. Brody saw the vet today and got all of his vaccinations updated, tested negative for fecal and heartworms, and his awfully long nails were trimmed which will surely make it easier for him to walk around. He will go for a long-past-due grooming appointment on Friday and have a dental on December 27th.

Brody has settled in beautifully in his foster home, and follows his Foster Mom all over the house. He is a snuggle-bunny extraordinaire and is sleeping with her in the big people bed. He also climbs into her lap when they are sitting on the couch. Brody is friendly with other dogs and people, too. He is just a super great little fella who is so deserving of a wonderful forever home. Brody does have cataracts, but can see clearly where he's going when he walks and does not bump into things. He loves his walks outside and has a very spry gait. Foster Mom says that he has the sweetest temperament and is a real love. Awwwwwww.

PLEASE NOTE: Brody needs an adult-only home due to both his size and compromised vision.
