My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Thunder is a 5-year-old neutered male black lab. Thunder weighs 64 pounds and is up to date on shots. Thunder is bonded with Lightning and the two must be adopted together.

Watch out for the adorable Lab storm that’s coming! Thunder and Lightning are bonded brothers who have been together their whole lives. Their rescuer said she could not say enough about these sweet gentlemen. They lived with many other dogs but we have no history of Thunder and Lightning having lived with kids, so they are approved for kids 10 and up. Good with cats.

From foster in OH: Thunder and Lightning are best brothers, together since birth; they are inseparable. Thunder has a longer snout and is a little rounder, Lightning is a little taller and has some white strikes on top of his head. They love to be around people, and they are friendly with other dogs, cats, and children, although they may exuberantly knock down a younger one. They need some work with the leash. They are housetrained. Thunder and Lightning are a pure joy to be with, they are good-natured and so sweet.

UPDATE: Thunder and Lightning are so happy to be out of the kennel. Thunder is currently recovering from left knee surgery and can only go on 5-minute walks several times a day. He cannot jump up on furniture, in and out of cars, or roughhouse. He needs to be crated when he is not supervised, or contained in a safe area where he won't get hurt. These boys are so loving! They met the resident female dog and everyone is getting along great.

This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. Lab Rescue LRCP rescues and places dogs in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and northeast North Carolina (30 miles east of I-95 and north of the Pamlico Sound.) Adopters must travel to Maryland, or Virginia with their family - human and canine - to meet the dog they want to adopt.

Lab Rescue LRCP has between 40 - 80 dogs available for adoption from foster homes across Maryland and Virginia, and at monthly adoption events. The adoption event dates and locations are listed at www.lab-rescue.org.

If you are interested in adopting, please visit www.lab-rescue.org and complete an adoption application. After you submit an application, you will hear from an Adoption Coordinator who will guide you through the adoption process.

An adoption fee is charged to cover the cost of veterinary care and a home visit is required.
