If you are interested in ROMO or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application

Please email the completed application to kerri.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached.
Mr. ROMO is a stunning blue fawn dane who is a love muffin all the way. He shares his foster home with another pup, 2 kitties, and 2 older children. He is excellent with other dogs and with cats. He adores the 8 year old human in his foster home so much he will choose snuggling on the couch with her over eating dinner! ROMO is a good boy in his crate while his foster family is at work and knows not to potty in the house.
ROMO is a 2.5 year old gentle giant softie. If you drop a pan while cooking, he will go hide in a safe spot. He is friendly with all visitors. He walks very well on a leash even though he still thinks cars whizzing by super close are a little scary. ROMO gains confidence quickly from other pups so we do require that his forever home have at least one other resident canine. We also require his forever family to have large and/or XL dog experience. If you have a little bit of patience for an incredible timid dog, sweet Mr. ROMO is definitely going to make your dane dreams come true!
ROMO is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations including 2 rounds of both the H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza vaccinations.
His $490 adoption fee includes his interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the Midwest once he is officially adopted.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).
Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.
Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
