Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We Adopt Only in The Greater St. Louis Area. A Fenced Yard is Required.
Our guy Jinks landed in a shelter twice before reaching his first birthday. But he knows the perfect family is right around the corner—a family who loves his adventurous spirit. He is a Corgi Cattle Dog mix. Jinks is the sweetest and calmest little guy who will sit on your lap and watch a baseball game. He is also a high energy little guy who loves his fast walks and playing fetch with his toy. He masters a doggy puzzle in seconds. He is way too smart! He learned his basic commands in a few short minutes.
When Jinks came to us from the shelter he had no manners. He had actually been in three homes before his first birthday. How sad for a puppy. When he wanted to go outside he would go to the door and jump three feet in the air. He now sits and waits for the door to open. He thought that a little nip would get attention. Now he calmly waits for his dinner, to go outside, and to go for walk. He gets excited when he sees me get his harness. Yahoo! A walk!
Although he will pull on lead, he is learning. Lots of treats, and a great harness solves a lot of issues. Jinks would be the perfect walking or hiking buddy for a person who likes to stay active. He loves car rides and will gladly jump in his car crate. He can be a bit reactive to other dogs when first meeting them. We are working on this and he is doing great. He has a best friend here at his foster and they often curl up together. His new family will need to continue to work with him. He has made a lot of progress. We carry treats, really smelly treats! A knowledgeable owner would be best.
Jinks would be a great agility dog if one is interested in performance sports. He has drive, wants to please, and is built for performance. A fenced yard is required for Jinks. He has an adventurous spirit. He has been known to catch a squirrel.
Jinks is approximately two years old. He is neutered, chipped, crate and house trained. For more information call 314-422-2350 or email claireelizabeth@petssecondchance.org . We only adopt in the Greater St. Louis Area. No Exceptions. Visit our website for lots of information. www.petssecondchance.org
