Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pork Chop is a St. Bernard Mix that was owner surrendered to an animal shelter in Virginia and pulled by this rescue. He came to the rescue severely overweight. He weighed 123 lbs and needed to lose almost half of that weight. He was seen by a vet and had his thyroid tested. It was found that he does need thyroid medication, which is inexpensive. He will go back soon to check his thyroid levels to make sure this is the correct dose. He was weighed recently and is already down to 109 lbs and continuing to lose weight.
When he came in, he was slow to stand, walk, couldn't do the stairs, etc. He now does the stairs, gets up and down easily, can get himself on and off the sofa and RUNS around the yard.
He is very very sweet! He loves people and gets along with the dogs in his foster home. He has the best personality and when his medical needs are met, he will be the perfect dog! (He still needs his teeth cleaned and a few other things once his weight is better under control)
