My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOZER is a 1.5-year-old neutered male black lab. Dozer weighs 53 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 6 and up.

DESCRIPTION Dozer is a happy dog who loves to be around you and to be petted and scratched. He has a ball playing and makes an adventure with his new toys which has just started playing with.. Likes to get his ears scratched and his belly rubbed which he reward with Lab-laps. Dozer would like to meet a family that has a yard and will give him love, attention and training, they will be rewarded by lots of love. Kids 6 and up, lived with 3 ages 6, 7 & 9 with no problems. Good with other dogs has lived with several other dogs, has been out with other Lab Rescue dogs at the kennel with no problems. No cat information but would bark at them when they saw them in the neighbor's yard. Knows sit, come, working on down & stay. Pulls on lead, with an Easy Walk Harness. He is crate trained and reported as house trained. Dozer is one of 4 dogs we are taking from a family that rescued him and two siblings as puppies. Husband is unable to work so they asked us if we could help find them homes. We have Dozer and Peanut this week and are getting the Peanuts siblings soon. More Info Soon!

Adopters must meet these requirements:
Setting: Rural, Suburban
Dwelling: Single Family Home
Fencing: Needs fence either physical or underground.

Dozer is from a rural area and has not been exposed to traffic, noise, or groups of people. If dogs are overwhelmed by their environment, they can exhibit behaviors like excessive barking. To avoid this, for now we are limiting placement to stand alone single family homes in a suburban neighborhood or rural area. As we learn more from the dog's time spent in foster, we will evaluate if placement can be expanded to include a more urban environment and send out an update.

This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. Lab Rescue LRCP rescues and places dogs in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and northeast North Carolina (30 miles east of I-95 and north of the Pamlico Sound.) Adopters must travel to Maryland, or Virginia with their family - human and canine - to meet the dog they want to adopt.

Lab Rescue LRCP has between 40 - 80 dogs available for adoption from foster homes across Maryland and Virginia, and at monthly adoption events. The adoption event dates and locations are listed at www.lab-rescue.org.

If you are interested in adopting, please visit www.lab-rescue.org and complete an adoption application. After you submit an application, you will hear from an Adoption Coordinator who will guide you through the adoption process.

An adoption fee is charged to cover the cost of veterinary care and a home visit is required.
