Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ANGEL is a 3-year-old spayed female black lab. Angel weighs 55 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.
DESCRIPTION Angel is a sweet, loving girl who has been dealt a bad deal. When she showed up at the shelter, she had a small growth on her lip, and during the short time she was there, it grew rapidly. Lab Rescue quickly pulled her and had the growth surgically removed (and thankfully, it's benign), but the damage was already done, and due to the location of the growth, she is now missing part of her upper lip. Angel now has a permanent grin on her face. She walks well on leash, enjoys affection and gives it back ten-fold. The techs at our vet are smitten with her sweet personality and joyful demeanor, despite having had a long recovery. Angel is hoping that someone can look into her eyes, see her sweet soul and love her with all of their heart.
Update: Angel wanted to greet everyone this morning with her rockin' head tilt! She is so adorable and sweet. She was thrilled to pieces to get a stuffed kong last night, and thought it was the coolest toy ever. She also loves bones, and fetches tennis balls. She'll bring them back to you in the house and toss them at you so you can toss them again for her. She doesn't seem to know what to do with soft toys yet. Angel is crate and housetrained (but honestly probably doesn't need a crate as she has excellent manners). She knows sit, and will prance around while you are preparing her food. She slept quietly all night in the crate in foster mom's room. This girl is a true gem, and is going to make some family as happy as they will make her.
Update: Angel has settled into her foster home easily. She's one of the easiest fosters I've had. She'll head into the crate for a treat and is quiet. She LOVES peanut butter stuffed kongs, and loves to play fetch with the kong once it's cleaned out. She walks well on leash, and LOVES food! She dances and prances around you while you get her dinner ready. Angel has excellent house manners, and doesn't countersurf or chew on anything she shouldn't. She's just an easy, great dog!

Update: Angel is doing great!! Resident dog Eron took her for another round of treats at the post office.. I think I heard Angel talking to the Post Lady between treats.. Something about wanting to be a Special Christmas Delivery to her furever home, and to be some lucky families "Christmas Angel"!! She met a few neighborhood pups and was friendly with them. A big ole, nasty possum caught her attention on our walk and she watched it intently, but didn't go after it as it disappeared under the neighbors deck. She was intrigued by the vacuum (but not scared) and would follow us around and nip at it. She's good on leash and enjoying her walks. Her toy repertoire expanding, she likes tennis balls, a furry Frisbee, a nylabone, and a few other plush toys. She "talks" sometimes when she's playing to try to get you to engage in a game of tug. She's pretty good at dropping the toy when you ask her. She's fed separately from her foster brother and waits for him to finish eating and for permission to lick up his leftovers. She sleeps through the night curled up on the bed and doesn't get up until she's sure Eron and foster dad are up. She's an amazing dog - won't you make her your Christmas Angel?
Update: Angel's foster mom is heading out of town so she is hanging out with a new foster and charming him to bits! She discovered that she loves stuffed toys, and de-stuffing them! The Subaru toy she was sent with is no longer a four wheel drive model...Angel chewed the tires off! She started flipping the kong toys, the Subaru, and a tennis ball at foster dad. She is pretty good at fetch though we just played inside.. She settled right down after checking out her new digs. Made herself comfortable on the couch next to foster dad for some ear scratches and belly rubs. She had no fears following him up or down stairs to check things out. She watched curiously as foster dad brushed resident dog Eron's teeth so he gave her a taste of brushing. She wasn't crazy about it but let him. She curled up next to foster dad's head at bedtime and slept through the night without a peep. Angel loves going for walks and checking out all the "pee mail" on our walks! Took a longer walk this morning through town. Eron introduced Angel to the lady at the Post Office with treats - check out the pic! After a fill of treats we walked to the park. She did very well walking through the town. Nothing seemed to bother her including a big, loud truck that was trying to unclog someones plumbing, or the traffic on busy main street. Foster Dad report she's soooooooo sweet!! It'ss hard to believe she hasn't stolen someone's heart besides both of her fosters.
