Rescued from a high-kill Animal Control in western NC, after being given up by her past owner because 'I've got too many, now'. i.e., my dogs are breeding a LOT and now I have too many. Apparently, Wilma is past her most 'prime breeding age' when he has soooo many to choose from.
dob: ~June 1, 2014...weighs just 14.4lbs. Sweet, shy and timid. Not housebroken but is crate-trained...apparently, has always been outside in kennel. However, we are seeking someone(prefer an early retiree, with no children) who has the patience and heart to help Wilma learn what love and a comfortable life inside a loving home feels like, for the 1st time in her life, in exchange for her unconditional love and devotion.
Gets along great with other dogs and cats, but we feel that she would be best suited for a home without children, or other dogs(she might be too inclined to remain shy with people if she had other dogs to 'hide behind').
She walks well on-leash. Not a barker! Shy and timid at first, but a super-love once she learns to trust you. Snuggle-bunny!!!!
Wilma is a quiet, gentle, SWEET little girl who just needs some 1-on-1 with a loving soul willing to give her time to learn that she isn't a 'piece of property' and a burden, that she/her feelings matter, too.
adoption fee: $225(includes spay, micro-chip, DA2PP/Lepto/
This pup is in and will remain in foster care in Rutherfordton, NC and can be transported to all states along the eastern seaboard via Happy Dogs Rescued Pet Transport svc. Their fee: $125 to as far as NYC, and $140 to all points N of NYC as far as Manchester, NH.
