Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Up for adoption in Texas and New England: Echo.
Everywhere he goes, people stop Echo to tell him that he’s the cutest dog they’ve ever seen!
Echo is everything you would expect from a 1-year-old, 55lb lab/hound mix (we think that's his mix :))
He has the beautiful body of a yellow lab with the adorable ears and soulful eyes of a hound.
He has the playful puppy personality and high energy of a young lab with the advantage of being housebroken and started on manners.
When Echo first left the shelter, no one had spent much time with him. In his foster home, he has worked hard to master a “sit” command and is working on polite leash walking and shake.
He is also learning to snuggle up to his people, though he gets distracted after a few minutes.
He used to jump up when people were around, but now he will come bounding up to you and sit at your feet (good boys sit)!
Echo gets along well with all dogs and people and loves everyone he meets.
His whole goal in life is to play! Because of his age and energy level, Echo needs a home with a yard and daily exercise. He does have a fence scaling talent... so you'd need to make sure your fence is high.
We believe he would love a home with someone who will play with him every day! Lots of play! Or maybe even doggie daycare!
Echo loves the 6-year-old and 9-year-old children in his foster home. We don't recommend him for people with young kids, just due to his puppy energy we don't want little ones being knocked down. He loves to "hug" so that could be misconstrued by a toddler (or their parent).
He is crated each day when his foster parents are at work, and while he’s used to it, he does bark when he goes into the kennel.
Until he has more training on recall, Echo needs to be kept on a leash when not fenced.
Echo has not been around cats, so we don’t know how he would do with them.
He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
Echo is a stunning dog who will make a fabulous companion to someone who is willing to spend the time with him.
