Sugar and Dipper are a bonded pair of 8 year old litter mates. They are 13 pound and 10 pound girls looking for their forever home.
Sugar and Dipper love to cuddle and Sugar will make little grunting noise when she wants pets and cuddles. Dipper is a quiet girl who snuggles in beside you for extra love. These lovely girls like to sleep in their own beds and will put themselves to bed about 10:00 pm every night and Sugar even covers herself up!
Sugar and Dipper are both submissive to people and do show some signs that at some time in their lives they were abused by people (they will avoid eye contact and be fearful at loud voices) They get along with people of all ages, but Dipper would do best with respectful children over the age of 8 years, and they get along well with other dogs. They should not be in a home with a kitty.
Sugar and Dipper are house trained but like all dachshunds they do need to be reminded to go outside at potty time. They are potty pad trained and in their foster home in Florida, they have a Doggy Door that they use. Like all rescue dogs she will need to be confident in her environment to have good potty habits. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important.
Sugar and Dipper require a home together as they are very bonded. Dipper has diabetes and receives insulin 2 times a day. Dipper is vision impaired.
