Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Katie is a very sweet, gentle and loving little girl. She is slowly learning what it means to be part of a family. She is naturally well behaved and very bright - she learns very quickly. She would do best in a family that would love her and and help her continue on learning to be a confident companion. Katie is still young, approximately a year old and currently weighs 31 lbs. She is up to date on her vetting and has been spayed.
Here is what Katie's foster family had to say about her:
Katie is an absolutely wonderful dog with a very sweet temperament. She plays well with Jack, a 5 y.o. boxer - although at first she didn’t understand how to play, she has learned quickly. She loves to cuddle and settles down very well when play time is over. She goes to the door when she wants out and has not had an accident. Katie sleeps well in her crate. She does not bark during the night, or really at all. I leave the crate door open and she often lays in there on her own accord.
She is a little uncertain with stairs and hard wood/tile floor but she is learning. At first she would only walk on carpet. She does not jump up on furniture other than Jack’s window stool, which he taught her. She will spend hours looking out the window and shakes her tail [and bum] when she sees a squirrel or a dog walks by, but she doesn’t bark. Katie LOVES to be outside and will sniff and run around the yard for as long as you let her. She does not try to escape. She loves chewing on bones and toys. She will tear toys apart to remove the squeaker.
Katie appears to be in good health with no issues with low - no shedding. She has lots of energy to play outside, but calms down very well when play time is over. She sleeps through the night. Katie appears to be younger than one year.
Katie would be appropriate for any person or family. She plays well with any dog she has encountered, including my brother’s Doberman, the doodle next door and any dogs she has encountered on walks. Katie walks well on a leash with very minimal pulling. She is still learning, sit and stay with cookie prompts, however she appears too excited by the cookie to sit
Katie loves kids and has not shown any aggression. She was a little shy at first when being petted but has warmed up quickly and now loves affection. Katie has not encountered cats.
Katie does not bark when I leave the house. I live in an attached home and my neighbour says that she does not hear her bark while I am gone. Katie can be left free without destruction, however I suggest not leaving low-lying items [on the coffee table] as she will pull them off.
Katie can be shy upon approach but she warms up to people very quickly. Katie has to go to the washroom as soon as she wakes up and should be brought directly outside.
Katie will make a wonderful family pet. She is opening up more and more all the time and I think a loving family, with children to play with, and a yard to romp around in, she will continue to gain confidence in herself and the world around her. She is just a lovely girl.
