Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Due to her previous neglect, Pebbles will need her teeth pulled. If you would like to donate to her vet bill, check donations can be sent to: Pound Pets, Inc, 2900 Missouri Ave, Granite City, IL 62040 or donate via Paypal: - poundpetsinc@gmail.com
This pretty little lady is Pebbles! She's a 10 year old Miniature Poodle mix who weighs 6lbs, is spayed, current on her vaccinations, microchipped and isn't yet house trained but does go to the bathroom outside. Pebbles is a bit shy when meeting someone but once she gets to know you, which doesn't take long, you have a new friend for life! She likes other animals and gets along nicely with cats & small dogs. She's blind so she probably would not be happy in a home with children.
Pebbles was rescued with Bam Bam, with whom she's bonded & has to be adopted with, in probably the worst neglect case we've ever had. They were both severely underweight to the point they were skin & bones - Pebbles was only 4lbs - they were covered in fleas which gave them skin issues & caused Pebbles to be anemic, and their fur was horribly matted. Pebbles had to have surgery to remove a tumor once she gained a little weight, her teeth are rotted and need to be removed, which will be covered by the rescue, plus she can't see so life was not good for her. Separating them isn't an option as they need each other & are very close. They are now living in a foster home where they're getting all the love & attention they were missing and are ready to find their forever home!
A snuggle bug who loves being near her people & cuddling them, Pebbles is a sweetheart who makes you want to give her the life she's been missing. This pretty girl bonds with her people and you can find her by your side, relaxing on the couch, enjoying being loved. She is a cutie pie with dark, curly fur and has a vulnerability to her that adds to her charm and makes you love her even more. Be prepared for her to steal your heart!
Pebbles may not be able to see but she hears very well. She knows her name and wags her tail when she hears someone call her, which will bring a smile to your face. She does sleep a lot, as she's an older gal, and prefers to sleep on her small bed on the floor or the couch. She's not all couch potato though, and likes to roam around her foster home or out in the yard with Bam Bam. She doesn't go for walks and likes being carried around but she also enjoys roaming around. Car rides are fun for her and her favorite spot in the car is curled up in your lap. Treats are something she enjoys and she's not a picky eater. She does need to gain more weight, and she's working on that, so she can be more healthy but she's blossomed a lot since she went to her foster home and is getting healthier! She's not a barker but will bark when Bam Bam barks, which he does to alert you someone's outside.
As you can tell, Pebbles is a special girl. She will need a very loving, compassionate forever home who will be patient with her lack of sight and older age. She will bump into things until she finds you, but she sure is happy when she does! Pebbles will be a joy to watch thrive and become a beloved pet! If you'd like to give this beautiful little lady the love & stable home she & Bam Bam are looking for, please fill out an Adoption Application at www.jotform.us/form/31997643682166

Pound Pets, Inc. is a small, 501(c)3 non-profit rescue that is ran by volunteers and is foster home based. PPI runs Granite City Animal Control and some of our pets reside there until they're fostered or adopted through PPI or another rescue pulls them.
Foster Homes are the backbone of PPI and are always needed! If you'd like to be a part of our Foster Team, please learn more about it at http://www.poundpetsinc.com/foster-homes-needed.html
Volunteers are vital for running Animal Control plus helping the rescue run smoothly. Animal Control Volunteers clean the building & provide the dogs & cats with clean kennels, beds, blankets, toys, treats, outside play time, walks & human interaction. We try to comfort the scared, keep the high-energy ones exercised and provide plenty of love & affection to make their time at animal control as less stressful as possible.
Rescue Volunteers are needed to help at adoption events, to transport, help fundraise, write grants, graphics design, network adoptable pets, network pets in AC who need rescue, participate in community outreach, assist us at our pet food pantry and various other duties.
If you'd like to join our Volunteer Team, please fill out an application at

Barn Homes are always needed! We take in many feral cats who wouldn't like living in a home and would be happiest in a barn home, which provides shelter & food. These homes still need to go through our adoption process but the fee is waived. Please fill out an application at https://form.jotform.com/32098523410145 if you'd like to help some feral cats.

Licensed Rescues are needed to pull animals from Granite City Animal Control, which is very small. We also save the FIV+ cats, but we don't have a lot of room for all the incoming strays. There are no fees for a rescue to pull a dog or cat. If you can help us, please email us at poundpetsinc@gmail.com
