Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gage is a very people oriented young boy, just over a year old. He is very friendly with everyone and is eager to please. He was just recently adopted by a wonderful family but unfortunately Gage was returned due to his inability to share food and toys with the other dog in the home. This is common behaviour in some pound dogs, and is something that can be overcome with time, and patience. Outside the home, Gage is friendly with dogs of all sizes and there are no issues. He loves to play with other dogs and enjoys their company. For now however, it would be best if Gage were the only dog in the home. He is a wonderful boy and just needs a little extra love to help him understand that there will always be enough food, toys and love. Gage currently weighs 52 lbs. He is a healthy boy, fully vetted including being neutered.
Here is what Gage's foster family had to say about him:
Gage is a fun-loving, affectionate and happy-go-lucky boy. He is very healthy, happy and loves being part of a family. He is still very much a puppy with some of his silly antics, and he will keep a smile on your face.
Although we haven’t had Gage around young children, he has shown himself to be friendly with everyone he has met. There isn’t an aggressive bone in his body and he is not shy of anyone. He has had nothing but friendly tail-wags for everyone he has met. He is good with other dogs and when we meet dogs on our walks, he is once again all tail-wags. Although he is not aggressive, he might be too much for a cat unless they were dog savvy. Like any puppy he just thinks everyone wants to play with him.
Gage loves going for walks and being outside. In the home he is quiet and well behaved. He rarely barks. We have never had to use a crate for Gage as he can be fully trusted in the home. He might try to take food if it was left out but overall, he doesn’t get into anything he shouldn’t. He is fully house trained and knows to do his business outside. It doesn’t appear that he had much in the way of formal training, but he is intelligent and eager to please making him a quick learner. He quickly learned down, sit, and paw. He would excel at obedience classes.
Gage will sometimes pull when on leash and could use some further leash training however he walks very well when using a gentle leader. He loves being with his people and he will try to follow you out the door, but he never tries to run away. His recall is very good, and he will come back to you when called. He enjoys going out in the car but needs to be secured in the back or he will try to sit in the front seat with you.
Gage is just a big goofy, love-bug. His favourite thing in all the world is his people. He just wants to be with you doing whatever you would like to do. He will need outlets aka walks, and visits with other dog friends to play and socialize. He would be a good choice as a second dog with another friendly young dog that enjoyed playing. Overall a great family pet!
