Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This little Mama was discovered when a woman observed her carrying kittens one by one to her property. She could see she was coming from a farm that was not occupied and appeared the owner had driven her with kittens and dumped her there. She said he stores cars on the property and has done this in the past. Since there was no food or water source Maggie kicked into high gear and carried all her babies to the farm where she knew she would find food, water and shelter. The good samaritan called SCRAM and asked for help since Maggie was emaciated and appeared injured. When she first came to us she was extremely thin and had several parasites that depleted her condition to the point you could see her spine, hip and tail bones. The kittens were still nursing even though they were eating food quite well on their own. The Vet said she was sacrificing her own life to sustain theirs and that they needed to be taken away immediately. She was severely dehydrated so was given IV fluids immediately as well as put on a high calorie diet that was slowly introduced due to being without food for some time. She bounced back within days and had gained enough weight after a week to have that all important spay surgery. Her wounds had healed with daily cleanings and all parasites were treated with medications to rid them completely from her. She has flourished under the care of her foster Mom and is awaiting her lifelong home.
Maggie has a sweet disposition despite everything she endured. Loud noises startle her but she rebounds quickly. She does well with other cats and with children who respect her. She has had a tough life and SCRAM is committed to finding her the best home possible. She has a very endearing nature and will seek out a pet by rubbing against your leg. Such a sweet little lady who deserves better. Please consider giving this little Mama the loving home she not only has earned but deserves.
As with all SCRAM cats, we will not allow this cat to be declawed nor allowed to roam freely outside. ALL SCRAM cats are adopted to responsible Pet Parents who understand the importance of protecting their pets by having them live as indoor cats only. Please see our home page for more information on adopting. SCRAM adopts to NON-SMOKING homes ONLY!
