Babe is a fun, sweet girl who will be 2 years old in January. Her original owners said she was a miniature Aussie. She is most likely completely deaf and has some loss of sight. She does know signs and is very smart. Regardless of her condition, Babe is aware of her surroundings and maneuvers through life really well. In fact, she thinks she's a completely normal dog. And she's right!
Babe is a young dog, therefore she is energetic. Her favorite things are playing fetch and taking walks. She is of course sensitive to touch and can be a possessive over high value toys. Like all dogs, she needs consistent training and exercise.
She will not do well with children because she can be startled easily. She will do best in a quieter home with someone who wants to continue to train her and wants a constant companion.
Babe deserves a home with someone who can commit to her and to dealing with her special needs.
We cannot confirm that dogs who come from the shelter will be house trained.
Most adoptable dogs will need some reintroduction into a home, potty training, basic manners and social skills.
Please be prepared to provide the training and dedication that will be needed.
We do not have any way of knowing if a dog or cat will do well with all children or all other animals.
*** This is why it is important that we introduce everyone in the home to the new pet. Please plan to have the whole family come visit.
*** We also require that any family dogs come into meet your potential adoptee. Please be sure your dogs are up to current on vaccines (distemper - parvo and rabies) before bringing them to the shelter.
*** All dogs must be transported home in a travel crate to transport your new pup home safely.
*** Renters must provide a copy of a lease indicating pets are allowed or contact information for the landlord.
If you are interested in meeting or adopting one of our pets or have questions about the process please see our website at www.adoptmountainpets.org or call the Shelter between 11:00 am and 5:45 pm Tuesday through Saturday. 970 626 2273
