Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Conan is a smart, curious, and gentle fluff ball with a deep well of love to give. While initially reserved with new people, mirroring his sweet and gentle nature back to him is the way to win him over. Once you've gained his trust, get ready to be showered with love. He’ll run into a room when he hears the sound of your footsteps, coyly rub up against your legs, and do somersaults at your feet, all the while purring so loudly neighbors can hear him next door.
Conan's favorite playtime activity is batting around a little foam soccer ball. In the air or on the ground, he’s ready to chase it down at all times or tote it around in his mouth with great pride. His smarts and imagination mean that Conan is always a fun cat to watch and be around.
Extra cute things about Conan:
~ He doesn’t meow - he chirps and squeaks.
~ He’s figured out how doors work and will sometimes jump to try to work the handle of a closed door which he thinks, of course, should be open.
~ He often stands on his back legs like a prairie dog to inspect his surroundings.
~ His creamsicle coloring, marshmallow feet, and pink little nose.
Conan loves being part of the gang and absolutely adores other cats. For this reason, we prefer that his forever home have a cat friend for him to win over as easily as he's won over his foster family friends. He’s untested with dogs, but given his gentle temperament, odds are high that compatibility won't be a problem with a cat-friendly canine.
Conan has been neutered, dewormed, de-flead, and microchipped. He is negative for FeLV (kitty leukemia) but positive for FIV (kitty HIV). This result was confirmed by a second test more than a month after the initial test.
FIV is not transmittable between species and is quite difficult to transmit between cats when the FIV+ cat is not aggressive. Conan is as docile as they come and cohabitates with FIV- cats in his foster home without issue. FIV has negligible impact on the health and lifespan of an indoor cat and does not make Conan "special needs." He is expected to live a normal, healthy life, requiring only good love, good nutrition, and routine veterinary care just like any other cat.
Don't let the stigma of FIV prevent you from welcoming this wonderful, deserving little guy into your home. If you'd like to meet Conan, please contact us for an application. Adoption fee applies so that we can continue to help other cats in need.
