My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maxine needs a home! Location: St. Louis, Missouri.

I once had a home and people who cared for me, but I would up on the streets, alone and hungry. I didn't know where to go or who to turn to. My name is Maxine, and I began to starve. I was covered in fleas and lost weight.

I was on the streets in south St. Louis. People looked at me but never offered me food. I got weaker and weaker.

Right when I was about to give up hope, a kind woman came and got me. She took me to the vet and then took me to her house and fed me. She promised me that one day I would have a permanent where a human all my own would love me.

I test positive for FIV and am 7 years old (more or less). The vet says I am very healthy, and I even had a dental, which made me feel a lot better.

Everyone tells me how sweet I am. All I know is that I am so happy when people pet me. I feel so happy and safe now, but I can't stop yearning for a human all my own to love and cherish. Is there someone out there for me who will love me and keep me safe?
