Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Local adoptions only: within a 75-mile radius of Quail Valley/Menifee, Southwest Riverside County. Please note: L.A. and Orange Counties are out of area due to traffic/drive time.
Mariah and her brother Marcel were rescued after being abandoned. Marcel has been adopted and doing wonderfully in his new home. We are told there are 3 other litter mates who sadly are still running stray. Mariah is doing very well and is the sweetest, most good natured dog who gets along with everyone and everything. She has never had a good home and it appears never allowed indoors. She is looking for an experienced dog owner who will understand her needs and be patient and give her time to learn to trust people and learn how to be a pet. She deserves a home where she will be treated as a loving pet and in return she will give unconditional love. At present, Mariah is somewhat scared and shy, but is coming around with TLC and attention. She even sometimes smiles, gets happy and wags her tail. Mariah is a very nice dog who will blossom in her own loving home. She's looking for love and a second chance. She does not potty in her kennel and is learning how to walk on a leash. She is well behaved and with a little guidance, structure and routine should do fine indoors. Her estimated date of birth is 2/17/15. Mariah appears to be a Boxer/Bassett Hound Mix with a brindle/white smooth coat and weighs 48 pounds. Mariah has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped.
$150 adoption fee, cash only, which is to help reimburse for a portion of expenses of dog rescue and rehabilitation. Adoption contract required. We are looking for adopters who are willing and able to care for this dog for its lifetime (10+ years). Location: Quail Valley/Menifee, Southwest Riverside County. Local adoptions only; within 75 mile radius because we deliver animal to its new home to do a home/yard check. Please note: L.A. and Orange Counties are out of area because of traffic and difficult, time-consuming drive.) We prescreen potential adopters before setting up a meeting.
.
If interested in this animal, please email us with a little info about you, your family, your other pets, your experience as a dog owner (which breed, etc.), where you live (which city, home or apt?), what type of home you would provide and what type of dog you are looking for--an inside dog, an outside dog or? Thank you.
Our adoption process involves meeting the animal at Petsmart in Lake Elsinore on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and by appointment. Address of Petsmart in Lake Elsinore is 29227 Central Avenue (off the 15 freeway at Central Avenue in the shopping center in front of Lowe's and near Costco). We have the best interest of the animal in mind and our goal is to find a good, permanent home for each of our rescued animals. We have the right to decline an application if we feel it is not a good match/fit or suitable home. If you like the animal and we both feel it is a good match, an application and adoption contract is completed. A convenient day/time is arranged for us to deliver the animal to its new home to do a home/yard check (to make sure the home and yard is safe and secure). We will collect the adoption fee (cash only) when we deliver the animal to its new home. All our adoptions are on a trial basis because our goal is to have a successful adoption where the animal has a good permanent home and never ends up in a bad situation again. We ask that you give the animal a chance to adjust and settle in his new home and environment. Going to a new home with new people and a new environment is traumatic and stressful. It will take time for the animal to become comfortable around you and his/her new home. This should be a bonding period where you get to know the animal and connect with it, spend time with it and take things slow. He/she will need to get to know and trust you and learn the rules of the house and what is expected of him/her. This takes time, sometimes 2-3 weeks. During this time we will hold the adoption fee and if the adoption is not working out, we ask that you contact us and return the animal and we will refund your adoption fee.
