My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Remy’s Christmas Wish: A Dog Tail

Once upon a time (October 2018), in a land far, far away (Lytle, Texas) there lived a young German Shepherd Dog named Remington. Remy was a very sweet dog who loved his family very much. One day while he was playing Remy accidentally got out of his yard and when it was time to go back home he realized he didn’t know where home was. Unfortunately he didn’t have a collar or a microchip so he was lost! Remy was very scared and even though he wanted help, the strangers were too loud and moved too fast and it just made him more terrified. Finally, Remy was too exhausted, hungry and sick to run away and a nice lady caught him and brought him to Lytle Animal Control. But, Remy was bleeding from puncture wounds in his neck and so the nice people there gave him to a foster family to get better.

Remy’s Foster Mom took him to the vet to take care of his wounds, get his shots and get neutered (ouch!). After a few weeks he felt better and his Foster Mom asked him what he wanted for Christmas. Remy said he asked Santa to bring him a new forever family – one with a fenced yard so he could run and play, and maybe another four-legged playmate so he didn’t have to feel so scared about new things.

Could you be the family to answer Remy’s Christmas Wish?

Remington (Remy) is an adult, male German Shepherd Dog, approximately 2-3 years old and 70 lbs. He is current on vaccines, heartworm negative, neutered and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Remy is extremely gentle and sweet but needs a family with dog experience who can be patient as he works on gaining self-confidence and gives him time to come out of his shell. Remy likes to play with the other dogs in his foster home but gets nervous and hides when things get too rowdy. He is housetrained and crate trained and is gentle with smaller dogs but we don’t know how he behaves around cats.

To learn more about Remington or to get an adoption application, please email Kathryn at kajones42003@yahoo.com. Remington is currently in a foster home in Lytle, Texas and is available through Lytle Animal Allies, a 501(c)3 non-profit. He can be transported to your area once adopted. The adoption fee is $185 plus the cost of transport (if required).
