Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello and good afternoon everyone it’s #RubiBPFF here and I would like to share my story with you....Well a few weeks back...I decided to venture off on walk...off of my property...before too long...I realized...I had no idea where I was...I kept on going...it was getting late...and I started to get nervous...when suddenly a kind stranger saw me...they felt bad...they knew I must have belonged to someone...that my family must be worrked......and just knew they had to see if they could help me...they saw I had no identification...no name tag with my parents number...so they decided to take me to ACC and see if they could help locate my family...when we arrived they were all very nice to me...they took my picture and scanned me to see if I had a microchip...and I didn’t....they gave me a necklace with numbers on it....and said I had to wait a few days and see if my family would come looking for me...once I was processed in...I had to go see their doctor...they said I needed to be fixed it appeared I had had a littler not that long ago...I didn’t understand what it meant to be fixed...I had no idea...but they said not to worry...and I trusted them...although I am very shy at first...I warmed up to the friends I had made...they took some of my blood...and that’s when I found out the worst news ever...I had those bad worms in my heart...what causes that I wondered? Am I going to be ok? would anyone be willing to help me I worried? Well they told me...after a few days...when I am fixed and have healed...they would send out a rescue request...to see who would take me in...and get me the heartworm treatment I needed...I guess....lots of us pups have them too...that’s so sad...I sat in my kennel for days waiting for news that my family was found....and as the days passed...I began to give up hope...my heart was breaking.....then they told me that someone answered that request...and that was aunt Liz from Barky Pines...I guess she and her family have helped out lots of sick pups like me...and she said yes she would...and yes she could...and a few days later I was fixed...and it was time to meet the family who was going to help me...it was her sister aunt Mary who came to pick me up...and although I was a bit shy...I felt comfort in her arms...she told me she was taking me out to the country to her family’s farm...where I would be loved and cared for...so we got in the car and took that long drive...I was ok in the car....when we arrived I saw all the happy faces of my new roommates...they all came over to meet me...one by one they sniffed and said their hellos...I was brought inside where aunt Liz had prepared a cozy bed and a soft blanket...after a few minutes aunt Liz came out to meet me...she had such a warm look of compassion in her eyes...and I knew...I had nothing to worry about...I rested a bit...then went outside to do my business...that’s when I met uncle Steve...he too had that compassion in his eyes...so many of my friends ran to see him...tails wagging with big smiles...I rested that night...with dreams of a happy future...where my bad worms were gone...and I was adopted by a loving family...when I woke up the next morning to the sound of aunt Liz coming in to greet us...my heart skipped a beat...I started my medicine right away...and then I went to the doctor and had my two heartworm injections...it was painful...and I understood after the second day...why we have to get plenty of rest....now that time has passed...and I am feeling much better....I am ready to find that home I dreamed of...that is my Christmas wish...that Santa will help find me a loving home....with a family who will make sure I get my medicine every month...so I never have to go through this again...if you or anyone you know...is looking for a sweet loving young lady...I may be....the one you’ve been waiting for....if you or anyone would like to meet me...please don’t hesitate to ask...till then...I will be here...in the loving home...of Barky Pines...well better go...have a great day...thank you for reading my story...thank you for caring...and especially for sharing...your friend...Rubi...BPFF woof woof
