Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lexi is a sweet, affectionate and extremely beautiful cat! She’s healthy and fully vetted, and ready to go to a foster or forever home. She’s located in Bed Stuy and would love you to visit and say hi.
She absolutely loves to have human company, and for now her favorite thing is to dance around rubbing against your legs, or nearby objects. She also loves pets, especially on the head, and will lie next to you on the sofa flashing her belly to get your attention. For now at least, she’s not a cat that enjoys being held or being on your lap, but she’s very polite about it and simply leans away hoping you'll put her down. We have a feeling that might change over time, and that she could end up lounging on your lap.
She enjoys the company of calm dogs, and cats! Lexi is sweet to all cats (even if they are mean to her), but would love nothing more than one that warmly welcomes her. She has met small children, and is cautious and calm around them.
Although she is very fond of people, there is something a little shy and cautious about Lexi so we think she would do best in a calm, predictable home environment where she can just relax and be herself. After months on the street she's had enough of having to look over her shoulder and just wants to chill now.
Her story, as much of we know of it, was that she was living in a construction site for at least 2 months where she was fed and loved by a kind Bed Stuy neighbor, but as the building neared completion she was being forced out. On the street she was very nervous of traffic, and being picked on by other cats. She was finding life on the streets difficult, our guess is this she started off life as an indoor cat with all the home comforts but then found herself outside through no fault of her own.
She has been living indoors now since 11.09.18 and loving it. She's loved and spoiled, but we still hope to find her a "real" foster home. Right now she shares her space with lots of other pets and a lively household, she does not have the "run" of the place. We'd love her to spend some time in a regular apartment where her personality can flourish.
