Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Queenie is an 18 month old pure bred Australian Shepherd (we were told) who was left at a kill shelter by a very elderly man who said his children had given him the dog and she was just too active for him. He was afraid that he was going to fall over her the way she stuck so close to his legs. This poor girl has not been socialized and is a little nervous when new people approach her. If you are sitting she will come to you and stay by your side. Once you become acquainted, be ready for a buddy who does not want to leave your side--she is a typical Aussie! She is a Velcro dog but once she is more confident in her surroundings she will begin to venture away a little bit. She was kept outside but she has done great in the house in her foster home. Since young children run around quickly, we feel they would be overwhelming for her. But you can be sure Queenie does not have a mean bone in her body. We are looking for a primarily adult home who has experience with Aussies or the herding breeds. If Queenie sounds like the dog you have been looking for, your first step is to copy and paste this link to your web browser to fill out our online application, http://members.petfinder.com/~CT243/sampleform.html . Queenie has been spayed, is heart worm negative, up to date on shots and microchipped, all included in her $450 adoption fee. Transport up north is an additional $125.
