My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Joanna is 4 years old and 40 lbs. F

Joanna spent over 2 years at a shelter and had a difficult time when she developed an ileus which required a surgery. Thankfully, she has been healthy since.

During her stay at the shelter, Joanna was tied up in a dark kennel, which led her to constantly growl at other dogs. Because of her growling, Joanna was one of the first dogs to be euthanized - but when our volunteers in Korea took Joanna in and put her in a better environment, they noticed her behavior drastically improve.

Now Joanna smiles more and enjoys being with other dogs. She communicates with very clear facial expressions and is extremely intelligent - she learned to sit and use pee pads all on her own from watching other dogs! We are confident that Joanna would make a great addition to any family.

Joanna is UTD on her shots and is spayed. her adoption fee is $350.

*Joanna is currently at a foster in Korea. If you would like to adopt her, please fill out our online application at https://sites.google.com/view/donghaepaws/. An HDP volunteer will reach out for more information after a careful review of your application. Please understand this may take few days. Thank you!

*** We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 8 years old. A home check is mandatory before adoption. We adopt to residents of Northern VA and Washington DC suburbs only. Applicants must be at least 24 years old. ***

*** About us ***
Hope For Donghae Paws(HDP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to bringing rescue dogs from Korea to the US and finding permanent homes for them. It is true there are many animal lovers in Korea, but still many dogs suffer and are killed for food.
Our mission is to find US homes for mixed-breed dogs whose chances of being adopted in their native Korea are very low.
