FROM THE SOON-TO-BE-EX-OWNER:
"Dutch came to us a puppy and we have had him since he was about 6 months old. Generally he is a sweet little guy, he loves to run and play and chase toys; but he does show a little attitude sometimes.
Dutch does exhibit food aggression issues, and he is not comfortable with small children.
He has not had the opportunity to play with other strange dogs, but when he sees or hears them in other yards he does bark and he gets excited.
He has NEVER bitten anyone, but he does growl or show teeth if the baby gets close to him; whether he is running loose or in his cage he gets cranky with the baby. We are concerned that he may become aggressive with the baby if he feels provoked or she gets too close to him.
Dutch would benefit greatly from someone who is going to give him lots of love, have the patience to train him better than we have been able to, and maybe it's better he is placed in a home that does not have small children who might not know to respect the dogs boundry/space.
Our home will be going under renovation construction starting in early May and we are desperate to get DUTCH placed immediately; hopefully to a PERMANENT home.
We do love him dearly and do not wish to see him destroyed or harmed in any way, but unfortunately we can no longer keep him, and we are having trouble trusting him because of his attitude with the baby."
DUTCH IS A GREAT BOY AND WILL SHINE IN A HOME WHO HAS EXPERIENCE WITH DOGS OR JACK RUSSELS IN GENERAL. HE IS HOUSEBROKEN AND NEEDS A LOVING HOME WHO WILL TAKE HIM TO THE BEACH AND DOG PARKS!
