Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or the southern Oklahoma area.
NAME: Princess Belle
GENDER: Female (Spayed)
AGE: Approximately 4 years
WEIGHT: About 7 pounds
DOGS/CATS: Great with other dogs, Unknown with cats
CHILDREN: All adult home or home with older, mature children (Teens and older)
Princess Belle is an adorable little soul with so much love to give. Her original family is active duty in the Air Force and they have been deployed to Germany. The family contacted CRT and asked if we would bring her in to our program to help her find a new forever home. We were happy to do this. And we send our love and thanks to her original owners for protecting our country.
Princess Belle gets along beautifully with the other small dog in her foster home. She enjoys hanging out with her, and snuggling with her. She also loves running throughout the house and yard with her for a game of “chase”. Princess Belle loves dental bones and chewy bones. She would do well as an only dog, or with another dog about her size.
Princess Belle absolutely adores her humans. She is velvety soft and loves to have her belly and head rubbed. She will even nudge your hand with her head to let you know she wants more! Princess Belle greets you every morning with a smile and wagging her tail so happily. She loves to snuggle and hang around you, so if you work from home she would fit in quite brilliantly snuggling at your feet or laying on your lap while you work. She loves to curl up next to you with her head on your leg or tucked under a blanket. She loves snuggly blankets and fleece material! It helps her to feel safe and secure. Princess Belle loves to be picked up and held. She will literally lay her head on your shoulder, snuggle against you, and gaze lovingly into your eyes. She immediately melts your heart and you want to hold her forever.
Princess Belle was a little nervous when she came into her foster home. Her original family told us she had to move several times due to military moves. So we think she was a bit apprehensive about how her life was changing again. When she first moved into her new foster home, she was a bit shy. She wanted to be assured that she was in a safe environment. At times, the activity in her home would over whelm her and she would go to her “safe space” in her crate to chill out. But by day three she was fitting right into her foster home! She is a bit apprehensive when meeting new people, so visitors will need to give her a short period of time to warm up to them.
Princess Belle is very smart. She is learning new tricks every day. She loves treats, so she is highly motivated to do tricks for you! She already knows “sit” and “stay”. She will wait to eat until you give her an “OK” command. She is learning to ring the bell on the door when she has to go out to potty. She does have a funny habit of wanting to be alone when she potties! So her foster family goes into the house and peeks at her through the window! She is fine with that! She does very well on a routine. We are currently teaching her how to use pee pee pads for the rainy days. Belle is crate trained too, and feels comfortable sleeping in her crate at night. We are just beginning to leash train her.
Princess Belle is a quiet, mellow little girl. She is white with tan markings and has adorable ears. Belle is about 4 years old and a perfect 7 pounds. There are no children in her foster home. She does get along with the family’s 8 year old grandson, and will cuddle with him when he sits to read. Due to her shy nature, we would recommend an all adult home or a home with older children (teenagers and older). She would be great for a retired couple. We think having someone around the home the majority of the day would be a perfect situation for her. We are requesting an experienced owner as we need a family who will give her a chance to adjust, and to let her know this is “the one” …. this is her forever home and no more moving! Her forever family will want to continue leading and nurturing her with love so that she continues to develop confidence in herself and her surroundings. Her overall personality is kind and very loving, so as she grows and develops, she is going to be a gem.
